  • Comments Thread For: Victor Conte on Rios’ Test: Alex Ariza Should Be Fired

The fallout from welterweight Brandon Rios’ positive drug test for the stimulant DMAA following his unanimous decision loss to Manny Pacquiao on Nov. 23 continues to ripple through the ranks, and now members of the boxing world have begun to offer their takes on the matter.

Nutritionist Victor Conte, who admittedly has an adverse relationship with Rios’ strength and conditioning coach, Alex Ariza, took aim at Ariza’s methods in a Friday conversation with BoxingScene.com [Click Here To Read More]

Conte's big mouth just never stops. The more he talks, the more he solidifies that he's the man behind VADA. Detailing their testing procedures so recklessly like that.

Conte explained why he believes Rios’ final test came up positive.

“What they test for out of competition is not what they test for in competition,” Conte said. “They don’t test for stimulants out of competition. On fight night, when they collect the sample, they include the stimulants.

“So then on fight night, because it’s a nervous system stimulant -- it helps you perform in the ring -- it doesn’t help you train. You don’t want to use it for training, so they don’t even test for it. “
Margaret Goodman, you better refute this stuff by your boss Conte. Because in the words of your boss, this is 'highly suspicious.'

To me, Victor Conte comes off as a weirdo. He's always worried about what Ariza and Memo are doing. Dude needs to get a life.

Never would have happened if Pacquiao hadn't weight drained Rios.

Conte wouldn't have made that amateur mistake, he's a lot harder to catch.

I disagree. The more transparency the better. I don't think Conte gave away any secrets. He's right though...someone in Rios' camp f**ked up and should be held accountable.
