  • Comments Thread For: Klitschko To The Critics: Chisora Was The Best Available

WBC world heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (43-2, 40 KOs), currently training in in Austria, has responded to the critics who feel Dereck Chisora (15-2, 9 KOs) is not worthy of a title shot. Klitschko-Chisora takes place on the 18th of February in Munich, Germany. Klitschko doesn't see the issue with Chisora's selection and firmly believes the former British champion is the best available option at this moment in time.

Unfortunately it's true... There really are no better opponents (other than his brother -- too bad that will never happen!).

At this point, though, the Klitschko's are contributing to a weakened HW division. There really are no world class heavyweights other than the Klitschko's, so as soon as anyone comes up in line for a title shot, they run into a brick wall (partly because the K2 are so good, and partly because the contenders are so green). Because they are the only legitimate heavyweights, no one can really develop professionally without facing them. But in the end they all end of playing the losing end of "Vargas vs. Trinidad".

It's really a shame they won't find each other. Completely understandable, but still a total shame for the boxing fan.

So do I, to a point. The thing is, Del's going to try and wing his way in as always and the Bro's are the masters of the straight one two.

            Recipe for a cracking K.O

Vitali speaks the truth. The beast available right now is (an in shape) Chisora.

The division is the way it is because the Klitschko's destroy everyone before they make a splash in the division. They are the dictators of the division and have done it their way for close to a decade now with no end in sight. If not for them, there would be about 10 guys fighting for titles and being considered the best in the world, etc.

Let's keep it real... Vitali is salivating at Chisora's style of aggression... This is like Tony Montana.. saying "come to me". Solis who's many times more skilled tried to barrel his way in & is now on permanent leave of absence because of it. Areolla is fighting on Espn against no hope Mexican versions of himself because he tried to bull his way in. Sanders is on the golf courses of South Africa weighing 300 lbs because he tried to bull his way in. Lewis is some where in Canada giving amateur fighters a lecture as to how to avoid being retired by Vitali when having the gall to go toe to toe with him.

When will fighters KNOW that the only way to survive a VK beatdown is wait till Vitali injures his shoulder or gets freakishly cut. You can always adapt the strategy of NOT throwing any punches in return so Vitali doesn't have any counter opportunities & make it to the bell while losing EVERY rd. Everything else you utilyze is going to get you stopped 100% of the time... so Del Boy... please come in with the bob & weave version of Smokin' Joes style.. we all KNOW HOW MANY times FRAZIER tasted canvas against another alltime great ko artist. I see a Danny Williams type of fight with Vitali playing ping pong with Chisora's head until he's had enough.

If not for the brothers.. these aforementioned fighters will have brought back memories of fighters of yesteryear.

                    1) Samuel Peter... Mike Tyson & Ike Ibeabuchi rolled into one

                    2) Chris Areolla.... David Tua from Mexico sans the tears

                    3) Eddie Chambers.... Jimmy Young of the new millenium

                    4) Kevin Johnson.... Chris Byrd with the Ali mouth

                    5) David Haye......Lennox Lewis with the same passive/aggresive style... hit or scared of getting caught pretensions

                    6) Juan Carlos Gomez..... a heavyweight title holder guaranteed if brothers weren't in the way

                    7) Calvin Brock.... Tony Tucker.. Tim Witherspoon.... take your pick

                    8) Corrie Sanders.. if NOT FOR vITALI.. white version of Smokin' Joe

9)Odlanier Solis..... Cuban version of the brother's themselves... skills alone rivaling greats of yrs past Holmes & Ali.

10)Tomasz Adamek..... a more steady & stable version of Golota
