    He seems to be one of the forgotten greats.

    I've seen lists where he is in the top 10 Middleweights, top 5 and others where he isn't even in the top 20, fantastic record of 125-5-11.

    Personally I'm unsure where to place him, somewhere around 8-11 give or take a few.

    Thoughts on the Tacoma Assassin ?, where does everyone rank him as a MW.

    People have this problem of rating fighters where they win titles and not where they actually spend most of their successful careers. As a MW I can squeeze him into the top 15. His successful MW career was 4 years long. And unlike SRR he wasn't fighting top rated MWs when he was still a WW himself.

      That said his level of opposition was definitely better at MW, so that's probably the best reason to rate him there, in spite that he was probably better at WW anyways.

        Wow Freddie Steele was tough man, have any of you seen him destroy Vince Dundee on Youtube, about 6 knockdowns in the first round, refs sure have changed
