I love that documentary, fantastic, but I must correct the assertion that John L. Sullivan is the first Superstar in sport, that honour goes to the legendary Dr. W.G. Grace who in the 1860's became the first cricket Superstar, it was said that during the second half of the Victorian era that Grace was the most famous and recognisable Englishman in the world, more known around the world than Disreali at a time when Britain owned the largest empire in history, he may even have been the most famous man in the entire world outside of America.... it must also be the most famous beard of all time. ------------------------------------ When John L. Sullivan became a superstar, Grace had been famous for two decades, it's hard to stress just how famous he was in a boxing forum but he certainly was and still is very famous.
