They should find a better home for them, but who wants kids anyway now? there is no practical reason since most ppl don't have farm land they need worked.

I don't think it's lazy, I think it's a good decision to give it away if you're a 16, still in high school, and no way mature enough to start a family. I also think that if you do give it away, you have to break all ties completely, make sure the kid never know it was adopted or that you exist.
