According to the Grand Rapids Press, undefeated cruiserweight prospect Jordan Shimmell (15-0, 13 KOs) of Grand Rapids has joined the swelling ranks of adviser Al Haymon, who also works with Grand Rapids boxers Floyd Mayweather and Peter Quillin. Shimmell's manager Dennis Shimmell Jr. announced the deal on Thursday.

I've been following his career since he debuted. Big move for Jordan. I think Jordan is also only the second white guy Haymon has so that's interesting too.

I watched him through his Golden Gloves stint and he was a standout. He has had crap matchups and fought a bunch of heavyweights even though he is a Cruiser. I think this will help a lot as he can make waves at Cruiser but needs good matchups and exposure. He has been a sparring partner for Klitchko and Adonis.

I have met him several times and he is a local kid. Nice guy.
