  • Comments Thread For: Kenny Anderson-Robin Reid For Groves' Vacant Title

After a long and drawn out saga, Scotland's Kenny Anderson, 17-1 (12), will finally get a chance to get fight for the vacant British super middleweight title against former world champion Robin Reid, 42-7-1 (29), on October 20th in Sheffield.

Anderson has been craving a rematch with former champion George Groves since their mini war for the Englishman's Commonwealth title in 2010. Since then injuries to Groves and additional postponements have put the much-anticipated rematch on hold. There is no confirmation yet as to whether Groves has vacated the title or has been stripped. Reid is still fighting? You'd think that loss in the that 3 round tournament would've killed him

I'm guessing Groves was stripped. He looked great in his last outing regardless.

Groves has acted really unprofessionally about this whole thing, basically stalling Anderson's career for more than a year for no real reason. Warren is obviously to blame as well. He's an entertaining fighter but this kind of thing makes it hard to be a fan of his.

Well said. He should have fought him despite the bad cut he suffered in his last fight.

Reid was disgracefully bitter on Prizefighter. I hope he gets KOed.

Come on, he's clearly been avoiding him for a long time. Even before he got cut there were fake injuries, cancellations and then there was even Warren winning the rights to stage the contest and then pulling out, wasting even more time.

You're right Clegg but he pulled out for a shot at Stieglitz. You cant blame him for that.

Their first fight was fun but Kenny has beaten no one that good whilst Groves is World top ten(ish).

And this time was a proper cut in a tough bout. Good luck to Kenny. If (when) he beats Reid he should challenge Magee

Where's the link to this story? I had it on good authority that Groves wanted a Lonsdale belt out-right & this isn't way to go about it.
