Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer told BoxingScene.com that he wasn't surprised when his offer of $3 million dollars, for a super bantamweight unification between Abner Mares (25-0, 13KOs) and Nonito Donaire (31-1, 20KOs), was rejected by Top Rank.

On January 25th, Golden Boy issued a contract to Top Rank - offering $3 million dollars for the services of Donaire. Golden Boy issued the contract to Top Rank's legal counsel David Moroso, a senior attorney with the Los Angeles-based O'Melveny and Myers.

Top Rank's CEO, Bob Arum, recently told BoxingScene's Chris Robinson that Golden Boy's offer was not legitimate, and there were issues with the language of the contract and he doesn't believe there was a good faith effort from Golden Boy to make that fight.

Schaefer is full of ****! He recently said Golden Boy don't negotiate through the media! Schaefer only means to all this is to try to make Arum look bad. Bob has been in this game way to long to fall for this petty ****. Why don't Schaefer work on putting Canelo in with the top fighters in his own weight class & stop chasing the smaller Mayweather!

Arum has said on numerous occasions that he doesn't have any interest in working with Golden boy. He is preventing good fights for being made. This why there were five Pacquioa and Marquez fights and while we are having another Rios and Alvardo fight. I'm not saying Goldenboy are saints but Arum once said "I was lying yesterday but I'm telling the truth today"

It's proven Arum rather just have his own stable fight each other. He doesn't want to make business with GB. And it's all TR preventing fights . Not GB trust me. If TR wasn't the problem. We would had Cotto Mayweather in 2008. PAC and Mayweather in 2010. Easily. If a lot of people point the finger at Arum at some point there's truth behind it . **** even Donaire wanted Togo GB in the past. He knew the best chances for fights were there. TR was great at making stars. Now there being the sports cancer.

While this public bickering is just making things worse, it is offering the fans some clarity (or confirmation as to what we already thought).

Schaefer basically exposed Arum's lie that the fight can't be made cos Mares is tied up with Showtime.

The fight can't be made cos Arum won't promote with GBP. He vowed not to after Oscar insinuated Pac was on roids, and he hasn't since then. That was 3 years ago.

F-ck all this nonsense about being tied into contracts or business models that Arum/DeBouef keep talking about, they just refuse to make fights with GBP.

The problem is, the balance of power from 140-147 has shifted to GBP. How long are Bradley and Rios going to be happy missing out on all these great fights cos of one old man's vendetta?
