  • Froch willing to fight Sergio Martinez at catchweight, who wins?

From last year but still interesting, Froch is 166lbs in the video, says he walks around at 173lbs but says he can make 164lbs.

Who wins between Froch and Martinez at 163-164lbs?

    (talks weight at 2:00 mins)

Also, how do you think a Froch, Martinez bout plays out? can he get to Sergio?

I'm going to underestimate Froch yet again and say Sergio wins a decision.

Sergio's speed will allow him to tag Froch a lot more than Froch will tag him, but Froch will win rounds where he can affect Sergio with big shots.

This would be a real good fight. I need to see Sergio after this surgery before I can make a pick. But if he is still as mobile and slick as he previously was then I could see him pulling it out. I also think Froch could knock him out too. Man I wish this fight could happen

I really have no idea, good question.

I'm not sure, very difficult to predict. Gun to my head - Froch late stoppage.

Martinez already fought a cruiserweight so the size shouldn't be a problem.

I say Froch takes this tho. Well conditioned, good chin and definitely better than the opposition Martinez has faced.

I take it you're referencing Chavez Jr? Freddie Roach thinks Jr's a natural 168lb fighter at this point so it's a decent comparision with Froch weight-wise but would Pavlik be a comparison fight style-wise?

Martinez would certainly be favorite at this point but then everyone is favoured v Froch.

If they both come through their rematches, imo they should make this fight in Vegas.

yeah I agree, Martinez's movement could be key in any meeting between them

I have to go with Martinez, simply because i think he can land a lot more and manage not to get knocked out, plus i could see those extra pounds he would have to lose would affect Froch,i know he says otherwise but he seems in just the right shape at 168,and cutting that extra little bit at his age could cause problems, jmo

I would actually take Froch I like Martinez but not as much as others on here. If Froch can make it ugly and get rough with Martinez I can see Martinez folding cause he gets tired. Froch can beat Martinez IMO.

At 164, that fight has a 50/50 chance of going either way, At 168 confidently Froch.
