  • Comments Thread For: Jose Benavidez Jr. Remains Out To Rest Right Hand

Unbeaten welterweight Jose Benavidez Jr. will remain out of the ring to rest from a recurring injury, manager Steven Feder told Boxingscene.com recently.

The unbeaten Benavidez (17-0, 13 KOs) last fought on October 13th, defeating Pavel Miranda by unanimous decision over eight rounds, despite getting hurt in the final stanza.

During the bout, Benavidez re-aggravated an injury to his right hand. That injury was a broken right hand suffered in his November 2011 bout against Samuel Santana.

I think this kid is very talented and hope the injury doesn't hold him back but even before then he was a bit inactive.

His team needs to stop putting him in with hopeless, hapless setups and gravy train fights. Enough sub 500 and no names. If you are going to injure your hand, it may as well be against another prospect or low level contender, instead of a setup.

He's 20 no need to rush him right now. Now if hes was 25 & fighting no names like Gary Russell Jr currently is, than you would have a proper gripe.

                  He's 20 with less than 20 fights...
