  • David Haye: Great for British Boxing, Great for Boxing.

Haye is great for British boxing, not just a great boxer, he is exciting and fights anyone anywhere.

He may talk the talk but he backs it up. He trains hard, shows he can follow a game plan and use tactics, and is willing to take risks.

If this was not enough, he is also a boxing fan through and through, supporting other British boxer such as fellow world champions Amir Khan and Carl Froch, ringside at their fights giving them moral support and cheering them on.

David Haye spent 3 week with Groves in Miami helping him prepare for DeGale, he was like a big brother to George and a down to earth guy.

How many other Heavy weight champs will put themselves out like that, showing tha the ego we see trash talking his opponents is just a show, to sell the fight and get inside the mind of his opponent.

Haye is not arrogant, he is one of the bright stars of boxing and is extremely talented.

Lets hope he gets a fair fight in Germany and unifies the titles.

He is not only great for British boxing he is great for boxing, he has brought life back into the heavyweight divsion.

Wlad is at the top of his game, and is very good fighter so if Haye pulls this off lets give him the respect he deserves.

Haye has blasted his way through the crusierweight division, becoming undisputed champ and he is now set to do this in the heavyweight division in double quick time.

A lot of people underestimate Haye's boxing skill and are only giving him a puncher's chance but he can be very ellusive and he going to have a game plan to be Wlad and not just rely on he huge power.

How is it good for boxing for if he retires immediately after becoming the heavyweight champion of the world (even though I highly doubt he will) ?

Even if he does he has still been great for Boxing and no doubt still have a big impact in British boxing, even in retirement.

But I don't think he will if he beats Wlad.

There are so many things wrong with this thread I don't even know where to begin.

Exciting??? Like throwing the lowest number of punches in compubox history against Valuev, or dancing around from bum Audley Harrison for 2 rounds before finally putting up some offense in the 3, when anyone could have easily stopped him in the first round.

Fights anyone anywhere? So that's why he has been ducking the real champs in the Klitshcko brothers since he moved up to heavyweight.

Talk the talk but backs it up? See above line

Brought the HW division back to life? this doesn't even need an explanation.

The only things you got right in this thread is that he supports British fighters. If he beats Wlad (which he won't) I will give him all the respect I have never given him before. Haye is a chump who can not back up his talk and is going to retire after his ass kicking next month.

Good post and spot on despite what some will say on here.

He's always been a decent guy.

Win or lose i hope he has another fight in October before he retires.

So you will ignore his attacking style, power punching and KOs. And there few other boxers that have thrown less than Haye. Haye connect percentage was 40% and Valueve hardly landed anything on him. Haye had Valueve wobbling despite breaking his hand early in the fight.

Yes he does fight anywhere, he had to fight Wlad in Germany because Wlad likes his home advantage, he fought Mormeck in France and beat Valuev Germany.

Unified the Crusierweight division taking on champion after champion. Stepped up to Heavyweight and won a World title in his 2nd fight after moving up and in his 5 fight after moving up he looking to become undisputed champion.

How many heavyweight in history have done that or close to that, with so few fight at heavyweight.

How can he be ducking when he fighter the guy, fail.

Yes he has brought the heavyweight division back to life as seen by the interest in this fight.

Yes he is backing it up, case you havn't heard he is fighting Wlad in a couple of weeks.

Great for boxing, if only more boxer would be like Haye.
