  • Will Mayweather Have Career Longevity?

This Is something I have wondered for a while now.

How long before FLoyd is on the decline?

Floyd don't take much punishment put how will his style hold up when he looses a step?
When he looses some of his trademark speed and reflexes.

Will his career hold up past 40?

How many years left do you think he has before he his officially "shot"?

    I don't think he'll fight beyond 36 years old.

Floyd is already on the decline. He has declined physically. His greatest assets are his timing, defense, techniques, and ring IQ, but as far as speed and reflexes goes, he isn't the same.

I think Floyd is going to be one of those fighters who can last long in the sport of boxing. It's a good thing his defense is so good. He hasn't been in a lot of wars or anything. The thing is, Floyd does rely a lot on reflex and speed and those 2 qualities deteriorate with age. But he still does seem to have a good reflexes judging from his last fight. I see him slowing down a bit though, rather than speed and power, he relies a lot on smarts also. So I think he can perform well til he's 40.

Floyd is a fighter at heart, that's why he had to get back out of retirement.

Also I think Floyd do care about his legacy.

After Pac he might go after Sergio, who knows....

Getting @ssraped in prison could shorten his fighting longevity.

I don't get it, has he not had longevity to this point? He's been fighting pro since 1996.

he has slowed down and due to inactivity he isnt as accurate as he can be......funny thing is he still doesnt get hit much, but he gets hit more than he use to most likely due to inactivity.his style relies heavily on timing and reflexes and both suffer with inactivity
