well, i don't know of any gyms down there in CA, but i do have some advice that will help you if you do really want to get into boxing:

- make sure you shop around. don't settle for the first gym you visit.

- make sure you feel comfortable at the gym that you do choose. a good environment is absolutely necessary for progressive training.
