Damn right. The US google trends top 20 was covered with queries about boxing in general on the night Wlad-Haye fought - yahoo Buzz showed people were googling boxers only hardcore fans would know about. That doesn't even happen with a Manny or Mayweather fight. Even with Cotto-Marg 2 being all over google trends on the night, people weren't googling boxing news or the sport in general just info about the fight. This shows the power the HW division has on people, and demonstrates how badly this sport needs the heavyweights back on track. Smaller guys can sell their fight, but the heavies sell the sport.

      Numbers from various countries:
An early tweet before Wlad-Indicated the fight was going to hit 1.3 million ppv buys in the UK, BARB later backed this up estimating 1.2 million buys (Sky don't release numbers).[/B][/B] [/B]It did over 16 million in Germany. 3 million in Russia. 3 million in the US. est 25 million in the Ukraine. So only from those countries we have a reliable 55 million viewers. There's also a huge market for a Wlad fight around central and eastern europe which nobody has counted. Maybe it didn't scrape 500 million quite but the numbers are bound to be huge either way.
apparently this fight was only the second fight in uk ppv history tht did 1million buys (its just behind hatton mayweather)

It's debatable. Hatton-Mayweather and Hatton-Pac were both highly touted as breaking over 1 million, Sky actually came out publicly to say Hatton-May got well above 1 million. Likewise they did the same for Valuev-Haye.
