  • Comments Thread For: Gary Russell Jr. in Training For July 13 Ring Return

(CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD.) - Top featherweight prospect Gary Russell, Jr. (Capitol Heights, Md.) has enjoyed a full recovery from a left hand injury, which he suffered in a March 2 victory over Vyacheslav Gusev. Doctors recommended six to eight weeks of rest and the 24-year-old heeded his physician's advice, refraining from making any contact with his left hand during that time. A well-known gym rat, Russell didn't stop training, only altering his daily workouts to allow his hand the necessary healing time.

Giving Gary a slight edge over TBA

TBA can be unpredictable. So it could be rough.

Rumors coming from Ring that they may match him with Mares.

That would be the end of his career. David Reid- Tito style.

It's hard to be a fan of Gary, and its not just his constant injuries.

that's what Haymon does. just look at how Andre Berto was brought along.

it's just a Haymon thing. big money, easy fights, what fighter wouldn't love it
