  • Comments Thread For: Mayweather Says Maidana Rematch Done For 9/13

WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (46-0, 26KOs) has announced that his rematch with Marcos Maidana (35-4, 31KOs) is a done deal for September 13th on Showtime Pay-Per-View. Although not officially announced, all indications point to the rematch taking place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

"Mayweather vs. Maidana 2 on September 13, Live on Showtime PPV. #Mayhem" - Mayweather posted on the social networks.

Mayweather had a tougher time than expected when he faced Maidana on May 3rd, and walked away with a majority decision. The fight with Maidana will only be the second time that Mayweather had a rematch in his career. He fought, and beat, Jose Luis Castillo twice in 2002.

Seems Floyd didn't have a choice. Maidana was his only option

I wonder if there is a stipulation on what type of gloves Chino can wear. Surely this was a major sticking point during negotiations.

No surprise. Floyd just running out the clock until Showtime economics force him to earn the mega payday with Pacquiao.

Maidana probably has to wear pillows for this match.

Good for Maidana getting a 2nd payday. Good for me for saving another $70 bucks this year. It's good for everyone.
