That's really all that needs to be said. This early into Broner's career at least.

Cotto gave his best. Floyd stood toe to toe and delivered the fight of the year.

Pacquiao simply stipulated that Cotto couldn't come into the match at full strength.

Proof of that is when recent talks of a rematch surfaced, Pacquiao REFUSED without the catchweight because he knew Cotto wanted revenge and was dominating at jrMW.

Like usual, Pacquiao figured "Why take the chance?"
Wrong again little buddy! Cotto actually weighed less in fight before Manny. ONE whole pound! woo woo woo! Cotto was washed by the time Floyd fought him. And he still couldnt take him out. It was a good fight though! I enjoyed it. Best one ive seen Floyd in in a looooog while.

Nothing you can say will change the fact that Pacquiao needed to stipulate that Cotto HAD TO weigh in below the WW limit in their fight. 2lbs is a HUGE difference when making weight. Its why some boxers go up a division.

Pretending that Pacquiao didn't need those advantages just makes it worse for yourself. It was no accident or coincidence.

How many other boxers need to sweat their competition down despite being able to make the weight?

And it might be different if Pacquiao only did it once .. but we all know that he didn't. WW was a joke for Pacquiao. JrMW was even worse.

A better version? Stop right there buddy lol.
Broner tries to fight like Floyd and is doing a pretty good job at it.......but

No way is he on Floyds level.
Not when Floyd was 23 and not while Floyd is 35.

I hate when people watch one good performance and then rate the guy over a future hall of fame fighter.

          • Floyd fought like this when he at 130 and 135 too. It's when he was smaller than his opponents at 147 he became a lot more cautious IMO. Let's see what Broner does.
