Fabled promoter Don King says he wants Bermane Stiverne's first defense to be in Mexico if he can find the money men with the dollars and the pesos!

On October 30th, it'll be the fortieth anniversary of when Don King audaciously staged the incredible "Rumble in the Jungle," which resulted in a megafight between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman. Now, Don King is back, promoting Bermane Stiverne. He's planning Bermane's first defence for... or close to that date. Astute, yet as effervescently enthusiastic as ever Mr King declared:

Most interesting to us followers of the sport would be when the fight is, not where.

The most sense would be Stiverne vs Wilder in Las Vegas in the autumn some time. Seems Don King has some serious business interests in Mexico, though, along with the WBC president. They are cooking something up there.

How did Thrilla in Manila make any? If folks are willing to fork over and dump their wallets in Casinos on the Las Vegas strip, i'm sure they are willing to go South and enjoy a good scrap with cheap liquor and good food. Mexico can and has provided the world with several world class facilities for different sports on the world stage. Plus Mexicans just want to see a fight and get drunk, I'm sure it will do fine. Oh and it's the WBC, they are based in Mexico so it kinda makes sense on the sanctioning bodies side too lol.

Don King will duck the Wladimir fight and milk that green strap until the day he dies.
