  • Comments Thread For: Arum Jabs Shaw Over Timothy Bradley's Promotion

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum has promised to properly promote the newest addition to his stable, WBO 140-pound champion Timothy Bradley. A lawsuit is still pending between Bradley and his former promoters Gary Shaw and Ken Thompson. Arum feels there were numerous mistakes with the way Bradley was promoted, including the boxer's inability to fight in some of the more popular boxing markets. And, Arum explained that it was a huge mistake to stage Bradley's January fight with Devon Alexander in Michigan, where neither boxer was known and the event did poorly.

When has Arum or any promoter successfully marketed a black-american boxer within the last 10 years??

I don't count Tyson or Floyd because their behavior (criminal) outside the ring promoted itself!

Floyd's o-o-r behaviour didn't promote those fights. His mouth did.

                  these excuses are pathetic

so putting Alexander-Bradley in Las Vegas/New York automatically makes it a "better" fight? Gimme a break

maybe Shaw tried to get the fight (Alexander-Bradley) in LV but the demand wasn't high enough
