On Saturday night, IBF welterweight champion Devon Alexander (24-1, 13 KO’s) will look to make the first successful defense of his title when he meets up with Colchester’s Lee Purdy (20-3-1, 13 KO’s) inside of the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City in a Showtime-televised attraction.

Having seen a scheduled fight with British star Kell Brook fall through on three separate occasions, Alexander may very well end up facing his countryman Amir Khan instead if successful agaisnt Purdy.

The latest rumors have Khan, a former champion at 140 pounds, eyeing a move to the welterweight division for his December 7th return, possibly against Alexander.

Then you have something in common. Maybe you can start a support group. "Talented Fighters That Lose to Their Best Opponents."

I would like to see this match up. Amir Khan doesn't even deserve to fight the winner of the 140 tourney.

He has fought two tune up fights in a row and looked awful in the Diaz fight a fight with Alexander at 147 makes sense right now For Khan.

Khan does not deserve a shot at the Welterweight title as he has not fought at welterweight he needs to fight a top class opponent before earning the right - the most obvious choice is Brook - this would be a sell out in the UK - Kell is No1 so this earns him the right - Brook wants the fight so do the Britsh Boxing Public and this would be perfect warm up fight for Brook who has not been active due to postponements and injuries - then Khan can say he has earned the right - but I think Brook wins this one middle to late rounds.

That's rich comin from a guy who lost to Bradley, Kotelnik and Matthysse. Sayin that I'd still favour him over Khan but don't go calllin yourself an elite fighter.
