Those guys had to fight constantly to make a living. Most present day fighters would beat the old timers. The training is different and guys are a lot stronger now.

Marciano did have a great record, with 49 wins with 43 by KO. He faught much different than Mayweather, going head first into the action. Technically Marciano was not a more sound boxer, but his chin and power puts him in another category. With wins against, Moore, Charles, La Starza, Louis, and Wilcott; solidify his greatness as One of the greatest boxers and if not the greatest heavyweight!

I like Julio Chavez's resume better. He won his first 87 fights with no draws, no defeats and no close fights. In those 87 fights he won 11 times for the 130lb. world tittle with 9 KOs. He won 3 times all by KO for the world lightweight tittle and then won 11 tittle fights for the 140 pound world tittle with 9 of those wins by KO.So he had over twice the number of fights with no draws or loses as Floyd has had. Chavez had wins over Camacho, Meldrick Taylor, Roger Mayweather twice, Rosario, Ramirez, Haugen, and Lockridge and other good fighters in those 87 straight wins. Yes, he fought on past prime and lost some fights later. Floyd could lose also if he keeps fighting.

Explain how old timers fought 15 rounds throwing blows while most of today s fighters can barely make it to the 12th and those who do, use Roids, like Mosley, Pacquiao, and Mayweather
