Mexico's Miguel Vazquez won a dominating unanimous twelve round decision over Panamanian puncher Ameth Diaz, retaining his IBF lightweight title for the third time at the Olympic Coliseum at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico. Vazquez (30-3, 13 KOs) dominated Diaz (31-4, 13 KOs) with his far superior boxing skilss and even sent him to the canvas during the fight. Diaz was unable to get off with any of his big punches and he couldn't break through the tight defense of Vazquez. Diaz was the IBF's mandatory challenger. Two judges scored it 119-108, with the third scoring a shutout at 120-107.
