This has already happened on numerous occasions. Against Oscar, Ortiz, Cotto just to name a few. Floyd rarely goes over the WW limit on fight night. And when he does, it's usually one or two pounds.

We haven't seen a real quality size welter in a while, so Floyd appears normal but a big welter is like a small middleweight~

Floyd was big at 130-135 which is essentially a small welterweight~ he isn't frail at 147 but a guy like Keith Thurman is a way bigger fighter than Floyd.

when he's beating oscar, hatton, judah, cotto, ortiz, etc. he's the #1 p4p fighter in the world...when its martinez, canelo, trout, etc..., he's too small...preordained excuses

              can't have it both ways...

                Yea you can~

Should he not get credit for fighting bigger men?

Does he have to fight constantly bigger and bigger men?

Cotto, Oscar and all those guys you listed started below 147, Martinez, and Trout started 147 or above so you are missing a key difference between the guys. Canelo started lower but remember he was a teenager when he began his career and he wasn't below 147 for very long~

Why do a lot of you think that Mayweather should fight guys like Martinez, Canelo and Trout who come in at 165-170 on fight-night? Trout pushed Cotto around like he was made of paper.

Even your (our) late hero Emanuel Steward said that Floyd was a small welterweight. He said it on two occasions - once against Hatton and once against Mosley.

The first apparent indication is that Floyd comes in at 151, at max - and that's for a middleweight fight.

What makes you think that Floyd belongs in the middleweight division?
Most of the guys that fight him are coming through weight classes to fight Floyd. Take Guerrero, he hurdled through weight classes to get to FLoyd. People said he's the best, so Guerrero came through so he can put it on his ass. Marquez went through weightclasses to get Manny, to prove who was the best. Pacquiao went through weight classes to get Floyd to prove who is the best, but Floyd went ch!cken *****.
Floyd wouldn't do what they did, on his way to the top he lost some himself, he "comfortable" where he's at. ANd i don't blame him, but i don't agree when people make it sound like something it isn't.

I don't think Manny went through the weight classes to get to Floyd, it would have been to get to Oscar, then Floyd was just the biggest fight out there that presented itself.

JMM is correct because JMM was obsessed with getting Manny back, so that was his goal, it was more personal in nature than just to be the best it was to specifically be better than Manny.

Yes he should get credit for fighting bigger men by all means..

Does he have to fight constantly bigger and bigger men?

No, but after beating every significant name fighter from his era, not named pacquaio, where's the challenge if he's fighting dudes his size or smaller, who don't pose a serious threat, unless he's at the end of his rope?

Cotto, Oscar and all those guys you listed started below 147, Martinez, and Trout started 147 or above so you are missing a key difference between the guys. Canelo started lower but remember he was a teenager when he began his career and he wasn't below 147 for very long

...and your point is?....again, floyd mayweather is the #1 p4p fighter in the world...shouldn't make a hell of a difference...skillwise or otherwise, nobody confuses mayweather with canelo, trout, or martinez...
