naturally. i'm all for that style of boxing. what i'm saying is, ever since he got rocked he hasn't fought heavy puncher. now that he will, and presumably, if he doesn't get KO'd, does that mean he doesn't have a glass jaw? like, bradley couldn't ko him in round one when they meet?Comment

Well, anyone who gets in the ring with Maidana is going to get hit. Unless you're Floyd Mayweather, Maidana will smack you one. Also, Khan gets hit in every one of his fights. His defence has obviously improved with Roach, but each of his 24 opponents has tagged him along the way - Malignaggi, Prescott, Barrera, Kotelnik, everyone.naturally. i'm all for that style of boxing. what i'm saying is, ever since he got rocked he hasn't fought heavy puncher. now that he will, and presumably, if he doesn't get KO'd, does that mean he doesn't have a glass jaw? like, bradley couldn't ko him in round one when they meet?
So, given that we've established the fact that Khan will get hit by Maidana at some point - whether he wants to or not - I think it's then safe to say that he'll have passed that oh-so important acid test if he survives and goes on to win. However, if we see the same result as the Prescott fight, then clearly his chin is glass.
By fighting Maidana, Khan will have every question answered. It's guaranteed.Comment

Agreed. However, if he does get ko'd a la prescott, what happens to him? where does he go? he can't even try to debunk the glass chin reputation anymore. move down in weight? where does he go? in my eyes, his career goes kaput.Well, anyone who gets in the ring with Maidana is going to get hit. LOL, I don't know about the whores but I bet wazaa already has his nurse outfit on ready to give Amir numerous sponge baths and nurse him back to health.Comment

The bold says it all. He'd be a laughing stock all over again, except this time there'd be no going back IMO. I know Pacquiao got KO'ed twice in his early career, but at least he had the excuse of poor nutrition, poor technique, poor training and poor circumstances. Everything was wrong for him in those fights.
Khan, on the other hand, has nearly the perfect platform from which to win this fight. He's got Roach, Ariza and all the facilities he needs. The one thing on which his career now hinges is that notorious chin of his. If he can't take big punches with all the aforementioned support behind him, then what's the point.
So this will be a truly career-defining fight for Khan. If he wins, he'll have answered all the skeptics - Maidana is guaranteed to get some shots in, so if he takes those he'll be OK in later fights. If he can't take them, then all the criticism will have been justified. It's one or the other. Win everything or lose everything.Comment
