Houston has granted an interview to discuss the incident, and the claims that he has a mental illness don't seem to be too far off base. The clean cut R&B star with boyish good looks is long gone, the new Houston is rugged and seems quite different than he used to be. In the interview he doesn't acknowledge that the eye injury is self inflicted, but claims it happened in a fight. There wasn't much room for follow up questions because Houston seemed more interested in discussing his movement to "stop prison rapes".
