  • Cottos gonna lose.. heres why!

I think before i say anything, that genral boxing community and boxing world has this fight wrong they make it sound like Cotto is a bigger name here and Foreman the underdog. I don't beleive that at all because when i think of a underdog situation I think of the guy who has a less chance of winning not necassary the guy who has a smaller name. It seems like the oddmakers these days they look at the guy they see that he had good fights before therefore make him every favour in the match ups and boxing fans, boxing writers, the boxing world are consisting doing this as well.. they do this where fame and name get ahead of the match ups itself because every fight can be broken down into skills vs skills, style vs style, weapon against weapon and althetes themselves should not be names vs other names..

So it's my personal beleive that Miguel Cotto is the underdog in this fight and it would be a suprise to see Cotto be succeful and impressive in this fight.. Emanuel Steward whether you beleive hes honest or not he has said repeatedly that Yuri Foreman stylist very difficult someone like Cotto and that he has spent alot of time correcting many mistakes Miguel Cotto game, getting his balance correct when throwing his punches, and to make sure his techniques is clean.. Emanuel Steward added alittle comment saying that even in Miguel Cotto prime a fight like Yuri Foreman believes still would give him alot of trouble and thats something to definately to consider. espciailly when you take a closer look at Cotto's style and breakdown each fighter and their effective in the ring to see who gains upper hand in the ring. He dominates you with a really strong jab with a very strong left hook to the head and body and throws a right hand in there to fill the gap of combinations. Now Yuri Foreman a Othodox fighter, taller has a reach advantage and has arguable faster hand and feet.. He fights in a style that honestly he really hard to beat for anyone you know boxing follows certain basic rules and Yuri Foreman has found a style where it's almost impossible to make him look bad and what i mean by that is he got really fast footwork and instead of using to attack you alot and to open himself up for reteration he uses to stay away from you and to take the fight away from you so someone like him isn't going to be a entertaining fight he never gonna be in a in-close competitive intense fight because his whole game plan is to minimize the confrontation against another oppenont to use his physical advantages to score point whenever possible and not get hit. You don't want to give Yuri Foreman the rds in the score cards but he fights in a way but no choice to give him rds because he really the only one landing the few punches here and there because he does hes thing so well in the ring that the other man never really touches him with anything consequences and that's gonna what happen to Miguel Cotto because Cotto has never has the best footwork in the ring because of his converted stances he got his dominate foot forward he got a normal footwork but nothing spetacular that allow him to able to keep up with Yuri Formeman as he runs aroud the ring.. It's a literally a matter of Yuri Foreman can move sideways and backwards faster than Miguel Cotto can move straight forward and that always goign to keep him one step behind in terms of distance behind Foreman. And you also have to consider Miguel Cotto came up from 14oish pounds while Yuri Foreman is pretty much natural 154 pounder, Cotto is moving up weight where he does not have the physical deminsion to compete he might not have the physical power to compete and he definatey have the physical size to fit in the jr middle weight so when you consider all these things and hes not the fastest guy in the ring on that night i just dont see the way he gonna win.. It's really because Yuri Foreman newly crown titlist that he doesnt have a lot of knockouts, things like that and we think that Miguel Cotto has a chance to really turn the heat up on this guy who usually use the jab and grab method and to win a good fight. but you know what Yuri Foreman in my opinion is one of those guys fight upto occasion upto the level of competition hes facing and i think this gonna be a minor coming up party for him and ends up being sort of career definning voctory!!

This fight is as much about styles as the Margarito fight and the Pacquiao fight. The only result of Cotto's career I was surprised about the the Clottey one, but I feel some of that was due to the cut. I just feel like I know what Cotto's style matches up with after seeing all of his fights, and Yuri Foreman is a style that Cotto does and will shine against.

Unless he's shot, which I just don't believe, then he's going to win this fight in 2004-2006 Cotto style by breaking Foreman down, busting his face up, and making him submit.

I just hope there's no bad cut. I have a bad feeling that may happen with Foreman's head butts.

Foreman shouldn't be headbutting him that much being so much taller, if it happens frequently I am going to question WTF his head is doing all the way down there?

Also yeah I feel like Cotto should be able to win this one too as Yuri is a light hitter who doesn't put too much pressure on from what I have seen of him but could a frustrating fighter to compete against for anyone.

Well, your theory could be right. But I think you has miss some important details too. As I said " It's All About Money". The star and the money maker right now between them is definitely Cotto. Promoters will make a lot of more money in future fights with Cotto (another fight with Mosley or Margarito or maybe Chavez Jr. for example) than with Foreman. Think about this: Who was Foreman before he gained the 154 belt? Mr. Nobody. Unfortunately there are excellent boxers like Clotey and Caballero, just to mention a few, that in spite of theirs boxing skills would never generate the amount of money like others superstars in a megafight. And that's exactly the problem around Foreman. Simply is not attractive for the promoters and producers.
But talking about styles your absolutely right and I agree with you 100%. But we must consider his recent training with Steward. If Steward could identify the weaknesses of Cotto and made the adjustments needed, we'll expect to see a whole new Cotto inside the ring. And that will make a lot of difference tonight in the ring. But if not, exactly what you said will happen and I think that this would be the last fight of Cotto's career.
