    [EXCLUSIVE] Salita gunning for Khan

Number one contender calls out new WBA champ

Dmitriy Salita has put himself at the front of the queue to face Amir Khan.

The Ukraine-born light-welterweight is the WBA's number one contender and mandatory challenger to the newly-crowned champion.

And within days of Khan's points win over Andreas Kotelnik, he has already started calling the 22-year-old.

Salita, who goes by the nickname the Star of David, is furious that he was overlooked for a title challenge and says the new champion should face him next rather than chase the names that have been mentioned.

"I'm ready to get Amir Khan in the ring and fight for the WBA title that belongs to me and I should have had years ago," Salita told **********.com.

"The time for this fight can't come soon enough. I'm going to take that belt.

"It was very disrespectful for him to fight for the title before I did and I'm going to take out all of my frustration on him when I get my belt. Amir Khan is just holding on to my championship right now."

    Surprise

Salita, who is unbeaten in 31 fights (30-16KO-0-1) says he is willing to challenge Khan anywhere, but expects any meeting to take place in America.

Under WBA rules, Khan has nine months before he must give his mandatory a crack at the belt, but can defend it against someone else within 120 days.

He has been linked with a host of big names and there is also talk of him moving back down to lightweight, but if he does stay at light-welter - which trainer Freddie Roach is advocating - Salita could be the perfect for his first American fight.

"I thought that he fought a very good technical fight," said Salita.

"I think he's still very one dimensional with his attack and I can't wait to get my opportunity because I know he's going to be in for the surprise of his life.

"Being a world champion is what I've dreamed about since I started boxing. I'm very focused and I will be at my best. I've been though a lot in this game and I will make the most of this opportunity."

      Never seen em fight,
hes undefeated so that says alot but.
His knockout percentage is just over half so that leads me to believe he aint heavy fisted.

If he faces Salita = "Oh, he fought some ****ty mandatory instead of Maidana. Should've rematched Prescott, too. Fuckin glass-jawed hypejob bum".

If he faces Maidana = "Oh, he ducked his first mandatory and chose a guy Kotelnik already beat. Should've rematched Prescott, too. Fuckin glass-jawed hypejob bum".

If he faces Urango = "Oh, he went for the second weakest champ at 140 and ducked Maidana and Salita. Should've rematched Prescott, too. Fuckin glass-jawed hypejob bum".

If he faces Bradley = "Oh, he doesn't deserve a shot against a legit 140 champ. He should've faced Maidana, Salita and Urango. Should've rematched Prescott, too. Fuckin glass-jawed hypejob bum".

If he faces the Witter-Alexander winner = "Oh, he's just hi******* the belt and keeping it in the UK. He should've faced Maidana, Salita, Urango and Bradley. Should've rematched Prescott, too. Fuckin glass-jawed hypejob bum".

If he died tomorrow = "Oh, he was just hi******* the belt and keeping it in the UK before he died. He should've faced Maidana, Salita, Urango, Bradley and Witter. Should've rematched Prescott, too. Fuckin glass-jawed hypejob bum".

Can't please 'em all, eh? Do the job on him, Amir. :box2:

he sucks i can't believe this guy is even in the top 100. he's fought absolutely no one and struggled mightily with these no ones. remember ramon montano that guy david diaz had a tune up with. he should have lost to him! knocked down twice and montano has 2 ko's! then he had a razor close fight against some 17-5 guy on the jones-calzaghe undercard(worse undercard ever btw)
long story short go away salita so actual good fights can happen.

Dmitry Salita has fought very poor opposition, never a single opponent who was in the BoxRec or IBO top 100 at the time.

                He's struggled against low-ranked clubfighters.

This will be an easy win for Khan, and an ideal opponent for Khan's first fight in the US.

From the limited amount I have seen of him I don't think he would trouble Khan.

                    Forgot to add:

If he rematches Prescott = "Oh, he ducked Maidana, Salita, Urango, Bradley, Witter, the entire 140 division and 135 division just to face a guy who KHTFO and got exposed the day before he fought that feather-fisted nobody Kotelnik. Fuckin glass-jawed hypejob bum".

Khan officially has the most haters as of Saturday.
