It was an exhibition, so not a sanctioned fight. They were pro fighters but tomato cans. Heard about it before but never saw it on video, so thanks bro.

This was after he lost to Ali. He was pretty devastated and fell into depression after losing to Ali, he took it really bad. If you notice on boxrec, he didn't fight at all in 1975, he basically fell off. But his good personal friend, Marvin Gaye told him while he was in his depression, "You're still the baddest man on the planet, you should fight five top contenders, or were contenders, all in the same night." And so big George did. It was kind of a way for him to prove to people, mainly himself, that he was still a beast. But unfortunately it didn't really work out for him, because although he beat Joe Frazier & Ron Lyle in 1976, he lost to Jimmy Young in 1977 then of course retired for 10 years. It took many years for Foreman to finally accept the Ali defeat.

As for the 5 fighters, from what I remember they were all ranked fighters so they weren't total scrubs.

George with no take down defense, would've gotten whipped by a punchdrunk guy in a street fight.

#1 = Alonzo Johnson: 41 years old, retired for 3 years, 6-18 record in the past 24 fights before that

#2 = Jerry Judge: 195 lbs, 15-4, but 3-3 in last 6 after stopped crushing cans

                #3 = Terry Daniels: 195 lbs, 34-18 record, 1-6 in previous 7

#4 = Charley Polite: actually a halfway decent sized heavyweight, but has a 13-30 record

#5 = Boone Kirkman: 32-5, but lost previous 3 fights in a row by KO

There's no way any of those guys was ranked.

Well there you have it. I thought I read somewhere they were ranked guys but apparently not. Regardless it was really just a sad attempt to regain some confidence from Foreman. But it certainly was a funny event especially with Ali being there and all.

If there was an Emmanual Stewart training Foreman there's no way Ali beats Foreman
