Maybe you are right about Broner being better off at 140 but when you win a title you are obligated to defend that title. Broner is a welterweight champ and Maidana is his top challenger. If Broner takes the fight it will be for his 147 pound title. If he tried to talk Maidana into fighting at 140 Broner would look like a chicken and Maidana would say no. Why should Maidana fight in a weight class he no longer wants to be in and fight with no title to be gained?
