  • Comments Thread For: Tony Thompson: David Price, The Perfect Fight For Me

Tony Thompson will be looking to prove he still belongs at world title level when he takes on David Price on February 23.

'The Tiger' may be 41 but he still has ambitions in the heavyweight division, despite being stopped for a second time in three years by Wladimir Klitschko last summer.

Thompson represents a step up in class for Price, who swept through the domestic scene in 2012 and is being guided towards a title shot early next year.

But the American believes he still has the tools to cause an upset at the Liverpool Echo Arena.

Thompson did not look good in his last outing with Wlad, but this is a good test for Price as he continues to climb the heavyweight ranks.

Thompson will be flattened in 4 rounds or less.

I think that Thompson will go down early without offering much resistance.

Did Thomson throw a punch last fight?

At 41 I'm not sure he has enough left in the tank. He never beat a legit contender in his career just some solid journeymen. He is so slow but I hope he can get off a few good punches to test price's chin...

Thompson did well in the first round of the Wlad rematch, but he shut down thereafter and went into a shell. I have a feeling that he will be similarly reluctant against Price and will capitulate when heavily pressured.

Thompson's chances are much better than the 7 or 8 to 1 that the sportsbooks have.

Anyone wants to give me 5-1 odds on Thompson I will put up to 25 million points on him.

I see Price being very aggressive coming out after Thompson. He will probably wanna KO Tony faster than Wlad did. 2 rounds KO.
