Top Rank's CEO, Bob Arum, advised BoxingScene.com that he will not go through with a rumored bout matching promotional stablemates WBA junior middleweight king Miguel Cotto (36-2, 29 KOs), who is 30, and newly-crowned, 25-year-old WBC middleeweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (43-0-1, 30 KOs).

Haha, Arum knows Cotto isn't shot enough yet. Once Cotto loses to Margarito, then it'll happen.

Chavez Jr. has always been complete trash in world-class potential terms. Nothing's changed just because he put some muscle on and had a title manufactured for him

This dumb, grinning chimp's suckcess speaks to everything that is vile about boxing right now. The first B guy he fights who isn't outweighed by a stone will put his lights out.

At this rate Id be surprised to see it happen then.
This is embarrassing. Cotto is small at JMW, Chavez would tower over him in a MW fight.

He's a champion. Championship fighters should be prepared to fight anyone, ESPECIALLY fighters from lighter divisions!

Its now 100% clear and beyond doubt that Arum wants Chavez to beat Miguel, he is using Cotto as a name on his other fighters records, fat old bastard

couldn't have said it better myself, chavez jr. is a bum who shares the same name as a hall of famer.

It's very clear at this point that Bob's main focus is Chavito. He has fresh blood now, Chavito has a fan base. That's his new golden boy, and Bob will do everything in his power to protect him.
