OLYMPIC sensation Cameron "The Hammer" Hammond picked up his first title as a pro with a clear points win over Argentina's Alfredo Rodolfo Blanco in Moree, New South Wales on Saturday night.
The Aussie ace snatched the WBA's vacant Oceania welterweight crown with a calm and cool display over ten rounds.
Blanco, who came in with an impressive 11-1 record, attempted to make things awkward by regularly switching stances, but Hammond never let it affect him and was comfortably in control in most of the rounds.
