It's a tourist place so if you want to go to mainstream clubs then yes.

Sydney and Melbourne have a better variety of club/music scene, but depends on what you want to do.

I don't like clubbing at Surfer's, way too many wankers. If you're in SE Queensland, I'd suggest just clubbing at the valley or Byron Bay (which is popular with tourists)
