  • Why did it take Sergio Martinez so long to get back on track after Margarito?

Almost a decade spanned between his loss to Margarito and his fight with Bunema. What was going on in those years? Was there promotional issues or something else preventing him from getting in the ring with anyone with a pulse?

How would he have fared against Mosley, DLH (had the BHop fight not happened), Vargas, Wright, circa 04-06??

Martinez only entered his prime in the Pavlik fight - according to his own viewpoint in an interview I heard after that fight. I think Mosley, DLH, Wright would have beaten him back in 04 - 06.. He might have beat Vargas.

But he wasn't that stagnant after the Margarito loss, he won 2 minor titles and the IBO LMW title over the following 3 years.

He went undefeated during that time.......if HBO or Showtime don't give you a shot, you are considered just another "eurobum" Once he got that HBO shot, he kept on trucking.

*speaking in terms of his next shot at fighting on HBO of course.

It was like Maximus returning to Rome, complete with a shithead son of a legend to play the villain.

I remember him beating a couple of decent British Light Middles back in the day.

Do you think Antonio Margarito used dodgy wraps during their fight?
