  • Comments Thread For: Wladimir Klitschko Returns in March, Boytsov Possible

WBO/IBO/WBA/IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (59-3, 50KOs) will make his next title defense in the month of March. Wladimir was in action last Saturday in Hamburg, winning a solid twelve round unanimous decision over undefeated Mariusz Wach. It's being said that unbeaten Denis Boytsov (31-0, 25KOs) is a possible option for Wladimir. Another option is WBA mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin (25-0, 17KOs).

Vladimir Klutch, Boytsov's promoter, has been telling the Russian media that Wlad will fight Boytsov next.

I didn't take it seriously, but perhaps it's not impossible.

Wlad is in a bad era of HW's but all he does is fight and stay active. It's hard to hate on him. His last performance was great, hopefully that was not a one time only thing.

If Povetkin and Sauerland want to finally fight i don't see why Boente is trying to delay until July. If he plans on fighting in March then fight Povetkin who has the best resume among all the contenders and will be a good win for his legacy, Boytsov is only 26 hasn't beat a top 10 HW and isn't going anywhere.

Undefeated fighters in the bank. Wach, Chagaev, Ibragimov, Brock, Peter, next up Boystov. Povetkin and Fury better prepare that undefeated record too, keep it shiny for Wlad. Wlad fought a guy taller than him and all that did was make him fight more aggressive. It's like if he goes easy on the shorter guys. He needs to fight like that every time, his wins would be praised much more. It's the way he wins that people don't like.

Being his first fight since Steward passed away and Wach getting caught trying to cheat with the gloves might have provided an extra incentive in the fight. But yeah, it was a great performance and hopefully it carries over.
