  • Comments Thread For: Paulie Malignaggi Discusses Team Alexander's Challenge

A war of words has erupted between WBA welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi and former unified junior welterweight champion Devon Alexander on BoxingScene.com over the past few months.

Alexander's trainer and manager Kevin Cunningham recently took offense to comments Malignaggi made on Twitter where he accused Alexander of ducking him this past December. Malignaggi, the self proclaimed Twitter King set the record straight on the most recent edition of The Boxing Lab, BoxingScene's official audio show.

Nice interview. Paulie is by far one of the realist in the sport.

            Worthy of another Televised fight

Paulie isnt the biggest puncher, but he can box. Hes an entertainer in the ring and will give it his all because he has heart. Paulie wont give up in the ring, and he has showed that in his past fights, the ref or his corner will stop the fight before he gives up and thats what i like about Paulie. Good interview Paulie, well said.

Paulie's tail is tucked so tight his balls ache!

Pualie should get credit for doing what he did to get the belt and stopping the guy, but the only reason that he is coming clean is because he was busted by Cunningham tweeting lies about Alexander ducking him to fight Maidana. Everybody knows that’s like ducking a BB gun and fighting someone with a 357 magnum. TV dates are hard to come by as he admitted, and networks are not just giving money away. Pualie can’t carry a promotion by himself and now that he has the belt, he seems to want to savor it for as long as possible. He knows that although he was able to get the belt, he won’t keep it for long if he fights Alexander. Paulie had a lot of mouth before the Alexander vs. Maidana fight. Now he’s using reverse psychology and being respectful while still not wanting to fight. That’s who he will fight if he wants to get back on TV. They both are coming off great showings that many did not think they had in them, and it’s the perfect test to see which performance was a fluke. I believe Paulies was!

A Picture is Worth 1001 Words

                    Paulie

This guy Paulie is full s**t. Entrepreneur???? Why is he talking about being an entrepreneur when he just won a world championship belt? Why is he saying that he does not read what he tweets? That’s like saying he does not hear what he speaks. WTF? When you:
                    1. Get on International TV with that shirt on
                    2. Already know that you are not “A” side material
                    3. Have a chance at defending your belt against one of the hottest guys at your weight that you called out
                    4. Have readymade promotional talking points (bad-blood, both coming off good wins, etc.)
                    5. Are in a division that desperately needs compelling opposition for the big dogs (Mayweather or Paquiao)
You need to get your ass in the ring and fight. Where is all the heart his fans are talking about. He has no network worthy options, but he is outwardly scared. If he was man enough to put that shirt on, then he should be ready to slap his B***h and get paid doing it. But…………he knows his so called B***h is gone whip his ass and give him a new shirt that reads My B***h Beat My Ass !
