Scumbag Arum already did his part in boxing & it would do the sport of boxing a BIG favor if Arum retired NOW!! He should have have retired 5 or 6 years ago!!

Look at it this way, Arum's been in the business for 45 years. Don King has been his only real rival in all that time until recently. When he and King were running the show, Boxing was a major sport in the U.S. and guys like Ali, Leonard, Duran, Hearns, Hagler, etc (who ALL fought in Top Rank promoted fights) were living legends and icons.

Oscar starts Golden Boy and his position gets stronger, King loses his stronghold. All of a sudden Boxing is a dead/dying/niche sport?

              You do the math...

Boxing would be much better off being run by guys who can't even read contracts? Stop it

If I was 79 and rich like he is, I would've retired a long time ago. He's a scumbag, but a dedicated scumbag who promoted a lot of great fights. Now please let your fighters fight outside of Top Rank.

That is a half-arsed breakdown if ever I have seen one.

Back then, Top Rank was a fledgling company, they were forced to interact with other promoters/rivals. Now that lying ****bag has entrenched himself such a gigantic foothold within the sport, he pretty much runs things how he wants. Which is, in-house fights, and greedy cumbersome contracts which bind the fighter to Top Rank. You gotta damn near sell your soul to him, like Manny has done.

The sport of boxing will be much better off when Arum retires/dies.

Yes, I am well-aware that DuBoef/Trampler and co. will continue to run the company..... but they will be forced to run it a lot more openly and honestly than Bob Arum ever has.
