What type of fighter is Ruslan Provodnikov?

One who seeks and destroys his opponents with each devastating hook or cross. At least that was what it looked like when he became familiar to fight fans who tuned in to watch him on those “Friday Night Fights” telecasts on ESPN2.

Win or lose, Provodnikov gave everything he had in bouts against fighters such as Javier Jauregui, Ivan Pococa, and Mauricio Herrera.

Most in boxing were left in awe as Provodnikov not only gave a very good account of himself against Timothy Bradley on March 16th, but that he deserved to have his hand raised.

While that could still be debated amongst media and fight fans, another intriguing question is will he have equal or better success against Mike Alvarado on Saturday night?

Media and fans will also debate this, but one thing is for sure: Never count out Provodnikov, who has an underrated skill set that could surprise Alvarado and the boxing public.

The deck will be stacked against Provodnikov as he will fight in Alvarado’s hometown of Denver, CO on Saturday night. The bout will headline a Top Rank card and be broadcast on HBO’s “World Championship Boxing.” [Click Here To Read More]

eeryone understimates Provodnikov thinkign he cant box he cant do this and that... BS if Bradley were smart he would have just boxed him and won easily...first of all, if Bradley were that good , he could have traded with him and not get caught considering the fact that Provodnikov was an "easy fight" for Bradley, according to so called "experts" !!!! I wanna see what they gonna say after the fight...Provodnikov by TKO !!!

You're Going To See, Alvarado & Rios Are B-Level Fights At Best!

Alvarado & Rios remind me of a couple clowns named Greg Haugen and Vinnie Pazienza. They became champions, weren't dominate, easy to hit, bleed like crazy, talked trash, beat each other up 3 times, but when put in the ring with a real champion, they each took a beating. Boxing is going to see Alvarado & Rios take a couple real beatdowns by Provodnikov & Pacquiao. Provo nearly took Bradley's life! Pacquiao dominated Bradley and was ahead on all scorecards, before he got caught with a Hail Mary from a juiced-up Marquez. Then Alvarado and Rios can go back to beating each other up a few more times and along the way, make a paycheck fighting other "less thans", like Berto, Lamont Peterson, Paulie Mags, Matthysse, Judah. The problem with Boxing is too many sanctioning bodies, too many belts & titles. They fight nearly nobody, and get some alphabet title, and call themselves 'champion' until they meet a real one, and get train wrecked.

And you're punch drunk..... Alvarado beat up Provo???? LOL.... You shouldn't even be allowed to watch Boxing, idiot.

Alvarado will get hurt in this fight... in front of his home crowd. Good thing Denver has Peyton Manning to cheer for.
