  • Comments Thread For: Henessey: Fury Will Fight David Price if Maloney is Out

Promoter Mick Hennessy believes Tyson Fury is way ahead of his domestic heavyweight rival David Price.

Fury, 24, produced a solid performance to beat former world title challenger Kevin Johnson on points in Belfast last weekend - the night after Price had stopped veteran Matt Skelton in two rounds in his native Liverpool.

Maloney, who promotes Price, used his post-fight interview to claim that Fury had turned down a previously £650,000 offer to fight the 29-year-old Liverpudlian, adding he was still willing to do business.

So this one comes down to the ego of the promoters. Each promoter wants to do it on their own, kicking the other promoter to the curb.

Get the ****ing promoters out of boxing. Boxing commissions need to start drawing a hard line between promotion (i.e. putting together events) and management, because if you could separate the two then there would be a lot less of the politics that ruin the sport by preventing the best fights.

Could Tyson Fury be any less interested in fighting David Price? P*ssy.

Are either one of these guys really any more popular than the other? They seem pretty equal in the current heavyweight discussion to me.

LOL Hennessy and Fury have some of the worst excuses ever. He won't fight because Maloney called him a coward? He only called him a coward because he turned the fight down. Fury has been calling everyone out and this shows he has no intention of fighting any of them.

Talk is cheap, fact is, Fury ducked Price initially.

Price needs to stop picking on senior citizens: Fraudley age 40, Skelton age 45, and now 41 year old Thompson!

What has Price got against old people?

Fury has beaten Chisora and Johnson, both of them MILES better than anybody Price has been in with.

Hell, Neven Pajkic is better than Price's recent victims.

Maloney is a rat, a complete and utter rat. But Fury should just fight him. Price will be knocked out as soon as he fights someone who can fight back.
