  • Startup Equipment

This may belong in an equipment review thread, so feel free to lock or move if it's in the wrong place.

I am beginning training and my trainer has recommended that I buy my own gloves, headgear, mouthpiece, etc (things I likely wouldn't want to share with the rest of the gym). I likely won't be sparring for a little while, but what are some recommendations for good equipment starting out? I'd hope not to pay an arm and a leg, but if it's going to last me substantially longer (or protect me substantially better so I can last longer), then it would be worth it I guess.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

the basic equipment when you start out and most important is

    -mouthguard
    -handwraps
    -gloves

if you will start sparring get some headgear i got mine for like 30 $

handwraps come quite cheap, get mexican handwraps they are like 5 $ from everlast

mouthguard was like 20% got a shock doctor

as for gloves i have a pair of 10 oz adidas for the bag and 16 oz everlast for sparring and pads....they were like 40-50$

i usually train in my running shoes got some asics that are really good don t need boxing shoes yet since i don t compete
