  • Comments Thread For: James DeGale: Now It's Just About Getting That World Title

Jame DeGale stayed on course for a world-title shot by stopping Gevorg Khatchikan in the 11th round of their Saturday night fight. The former Olympic champion was given a tough test at times by his Dutch foe in Bristol but appeared to be in control of the fight for the majority of it.

The end came at the end of the 11th round when a series of body shots left the previously-unbeaten Khatchikan in trouble. Twice he went down and although he got up both times, the referee did not allow him to continue after the second. There were just two seconds of the round remaining.

      He's gone backwards

The guy he was fighting looked like a club fighter and he pretty much landed the right hand when he wanted

Micks done a shiz job with him but if he steps up now after fighting bums he's gonna get dipped bad

Shame because him and his trainer seem like top blokes (wankers)

He need's to become more likable. It's crazy he's an Olympic gold medalist yet nobody seems to like him or want to watch him. But yeah he needs to jump ship.

Would rather not see or hear from him again tbh. Arrogant and deluded fool....

Pretty much what I thought when watched the fight.

There was very little to be impressed with and if Degale steps up for World title he will likely be outclassed.

Degale is a European level fighter, last night highlighted that fact.

Far, far from convinced about Degale.

I think a Bika fight would be fascinating.

Bika would be driving him back to the ropes all day long but even now he is so wild and James could walk him onto some decent shots.

I'd back Bika by decision though.

              Get it made!

Chunky will get his title shot this year, it's make or break time for him. I hope he does well.

Sounds like Andre Ward. Well a less skilled, less Christian Andre Ward.

And who could do a better job? Hearn? Look at his fighter kell brook. Degale would be following the exact same path of eliminators under eddie Hearn.
