Teddy Atlas, trainer of WBA "regular" heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin (23-0, 16KOs), would prefer to have to his boxer face British/Commonwealth champion Tyson Fury (17-0, 12KOs) - and not WBA mandatory challenger Hasim Rahman (50-7-2, 31KOs). Last Saturday in Helsinki, Povetkin made the first defense of his title by knocking out heavyweight veteran Cedric Boswell in six rounds.

Povetkin is far more skilled than Fury -- his disadvantage would lie in his short arms. Fury would have a tremendous reach advantage.

Atlas is advising Povetkin to duck old Rahman?

The WBA needs to enforce their mandatories, too much ducking going on, like Sturm ducking Golovkin.

As a Tyson Fury fan, I'd like to see him with another year's experience (three or four more fights) before going for a title shot, even if it is a paper belt.

I like Atlas' thought process here.

To get your fighter ready for the Klitschkos first you take on their ******ed half brother Tyson Fury.

            Povetkin would destroy Fury.
