By Jake Donovan - Jorge Paez Jr. racked up perhaps the biggest win of his career with a majority decision over former title challenger Charlie Jose Navarro in their 10-round welterweight bout Saturday evening in Mexicali, Mexico.
Scores were 94-94 even, 96-95 and 98-92 for Paez Jr., who overcame a slow start to rally back and take a hard-fought decision. The bout was slated to top a TV Azteca card, but instead aired outside Mexico airwaves on WBCBoxing.tv, the official stream website for the World Boxing Council (WBC), who made available a Silver welterweight title.
Action was slow in the early going, which worked greatly to Navarro's advantage. The visiting Venezuelan boxer capitalized on Paez Jr's desire to pose and feint, boxing his way to an early lead on the scorecards. [Click Here To Read More]
