The camp of former champion Roman 'Rocky' Martinez (25-1, 16KOs) are still reviewing a submitted offer from Top Rank, regarding a potential fight with unbeaten Yuriorkis Gamboa (21-0, 16KOs) in the month of March. As previously reported, Martinez doesn't like the financial numbers and he may take another path, like a world title eliminator for a shot at the WBO super featherweight champion Adrien Broner.

I would like to see Rocky win. But this fight has some very strong similarities to Broner-Litzau. Rocky, like Litzau is taller, wide open and leaves his chin exposed. Gamboa, like Broner is shorter, more compact with his punches. If Rocky could cover up and not leave himself exposed and counter and then come out of a shell later and throw his power punches, he could win. In boxing, anything can happen. If this is anything other than a blowout, it will be because Rocky's chin is granite, or he has tightened up his defense, or both.
