Kobe, Japan - Mexico's Jhonny Gonzalez (48-7, 42KOs) redeemed himself by knocking out Hozumi Hasegawa (29-4, 12KOs) in the fourth round to win the WBC featherweight crown at the War Memorial Hall. Hasegawa was making the first defense of the vacant title he won from Juan Carlos Burgos last November. Gonzalez wanted revenge after Toshiaki Nishioka traveled to Mexico in May of 2009 and knocked Gonzalez out in three rounds.

      God damn it.

I was hoping Hasegawa would hold onto that strap, and Nonito would fight him for it once he moved up. Oh well.

Hozumi was winning the first three rounds and Jhonny was jabbing high in the fourth round when he suddenly connected with that wicked right hand and it's over like when he fought Montiel.

Jhonny González should fight Elio Rojas next.

what rivalry? all they do is stay at home and fight taxi cab drivers... This is what happens when they face the elite mexicans.
