  • Comments Thread For: Amir Khan Has No Desire To Go To 147 Just Yet

WBC silver junior welterweight champion Amir Khan admits he may extend his career beyond the age of 28 and for the moment has no interest in stepping up to welterweight to face Sheffield rival Kell Brook.

In 2011, Khan was heavily considering the possibility of going to the welterweight division in 2012 - but then he suffered a controversial decision loss to Lamont Peterson in December 2011 and was knocked out by Danny Garcia in four rounds in July. He returned earlier this month to stop Carlos Molina.

2nd separate piece today from the same source piece in a junk tabloid.

Perhaps we can get Edward chaykovsky to write a piece quoting this one like he did with Warrens.

funny tho how Khan no longer wants any part of welterweight when he was pishing his knickers to get up there and fight Mayweather 18 months ago.

Brook shatters his China chin and he realises it.

Bet he thought he would be on 10 mil a fight by 28.

Sorry mate...that's for REAL superstars only.

I would like you to dish up the evidence? He's always saying making 140 is too easy for him at the moment.

Why is it funny? 18 months ago he was unified champion and Bradley had just ducked him. More or less nothing else to do at 140 so the logical step would be the money fight.

He still has some lightweights to beat up on before he makes the move.

Since when is "ducking" waiting for a way bigger and better fight? GTFO with that nonsense.

140 is still Amir's best weight

He walks around no more than 153-156...

On fight night (under good training regime) he weights 151 which is the average weight for a 140 fighter..

Amir said himself... during sparring he feels stronger but when he goes to make 140 he just loses that little edge..
143-144 would be an ideal weight for him... but that isn't how boxing works.. and you have guys who can put on 15-20 pounds overnight making 147 a weight he should hold out moving to for a while.

                  Such a random baseless statement...

since he moved up to 140 hes fought 1 lightweight. And that was after a devastating ko loss.

Geez, what a great idea......take that stellar chin of his up to Welterweight. Makes about as much sense as drinking battery acid.
