TAYLOR-WRIGHT II FALLING APART FASTER THAN IT SEEMED TO BE COMING TOGETHER!
    By G. Leon

WINKY TO TAYLOR: 50-50 or no fight!

Over the past couple of days there has been a buzz throughout the boxing world about the Jermain Taylor-Winky Wright rematch taking place later this year on HBO PPV. After both Taylor and Wright came on the record making it clear that they want the fight, the business reps for both fighters opened discussions to see if an agreeement could be reached. Offers were made to Wright, which the former junior middleweight king is unwilling to accept. Although Wright is being offered nearly two million dollars more than he was guaranteed for the first Taylor fight, the Winkster says, "there's no way the fight is happening unless it's 50-50. I took the 55-45 split for the first fight just to prove that I'm the best middleweight out there. I don't think fans should blame Jermain but the people behind him need to come up with a 50-50 offer otherwise there's not going to be a fight! This isn't about how much more I'm making for this fight, this is about me getting treated fairly. I've been taking shorts my whole career and now that I've proven myself they got to do right by me." With the Taylor fight seeming far less likely than it did after yesterday's discussion, ********** asked Wright who he would be fighting on HBO World Championship and according to the pride of St. Pete's, Ike Quartey appears to be the frontrunner as this goes to print. When informed of Wright's comments, Taylor promoter Lou DiBella told **********, "I say this with love, he ain't never fighting Jermain unless he leaves planet Winky to return to planet earth." Taylor advisor Ozell Nelson and Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer, who is currently out of the country, were unavailable for immediate comment. Remember where you heard it first! (6:26 PM EST)

50/50? lol god damn this guy winky wright is losing all respect of me for his attitude thinking he's a star that ppl want to see. Winky need to stop that bs. Taylor is more popular then wright. Taylor is the undisputed champion not wright so winky need to stop the 50/50 crap. I swear winky remind me of hopkins when hopkins wanted 50/50 vs roy jones in the rematch back in 2002.

This is what Ive been saying all along about Winky. People still dont believe that him and Floyd wouldve fought but all the insiders say it was real talk but there was no way in hell that little as Floyd would fight Winky for 50/50 and Winky said if its not even then there's no fight.

Then Winky turned down 4mil to fight Margarito just because he offered Floyd 8. So what. Its still the most youve made. I remember this fool turned down 2 fights with Shane because it was short money and ended up fighting Mosley 18 months later for like half the money.

Dude doesnt know business and he over values himself. There is no way he should get 50/50 for Taylor and he wont get it so this fight is done.

He wants 50/50 no matter how great the guy is and the size doesnt matter. Then if he's much better then the guy, he wants like 80/20. Winky is a fu ckin joke.

I bet he ends up fighting Forrest for a quarter of what he wouldve made against Taylor. By time he retires he will have lost so much money in boxing that it will be crazy

Oh ****! Here comes the money excuse again, ****.

If Winky bitches, forget him and go on with Ouma. That draw didn't change anything, Winky is still the challenger for christ sake. Let him fight somebody else and find out how much he's gonna earn. He's not even a PPV fighter.

Taylor should say **** it, and go ahead with the Ouma fight, which imo will be a better more entertaining fight...

It don't matter if he won/lost the fight, the fact is that he can't put culos on those seats...If he doesn't fight Taylor, who can he fight that it would be worth a PPV?

No cause he still not the champ. He still can't sell out seats. Its all about popularity and taylor is more popular then wright. Taylor is the champ the man not winky.
