  • GGG can't afford to play the waiting game with Canelo.....

Canelo just turned 26 while GGG is turning 35. Golovkin already on the verge of decline while Canelo is just entering his prime. Right now I would still pick G to destroy Canelo, but with every day that passes the gap gets smaller. In another year and a half and with the judges in Oscar's pocket, who knows?

Golovkin's team needs to just take whatever offer that Canelo gives them and run with it. Beat Canelo, become the man, and then you can call all the shots afterwards!

What Golovkin's team can't afford to do is try and play hardball and let this fight drag on, which is exactly what Oscar and Canelo's team wants. Time is on Canelo's side, and Golovkin needs this fight more than Canelo.

GGG team needs to make this fight happen within the next year no matter what.

Canelo's getting stronger and gaining valuable experience.

He's going to be a very dangerous man in 3 years.

Even if they accepted the offer tomorrow it won't happen until September.

He will be a dangerous man in 3 years. He is a dangerous man right now who knocks out guys like Kirkland, Khan and Smith with one well placed punch to the head or the body with either hand.

Totally GGG has had a rough career fighting cab drivers and welterweights. Time definitely isn't on his side.

Team GGG can't make the fight happen in the next year no matter what if Oscar won't let Canelo fight GGG in the next year no matter what. I doubt Oscar will let the fight happen until he is sure Canelo has improved enough and GGG has aged and gone down hill enough for Canelo to have an excellent chance to win. GGG can still make good money without ever fighting Canelo. Fighting Jacobs, Saunders and then some big names at 168 will make him good money.

                Agreed.

GGG missed out on so many fights. Pavlik, Martinez, Pirog, Sturm... If he doesn't get the Canelo fight, I don't think we'll ever know how good he really is.

This is why i said in one of my post earlier that GGG need to move on, Canelo would only fight GGG when he is ready, GGG next fight should be either BJS,Jacobs or Eubank. The older GGG gets the better for Canelo and i bet you he would rather drain himself and stay at 154 for another one or two fights, he would probably be ready when GGG is about 37.
