Sad. The new face of Brooklyn Boxing and with the new fighter health insurance rule going into effect, Jacobs looks to have lost out any more fights in Brooklyn.
Being a co-main to Cruz/Frampton would've been better than fighting in front of 2-3,000 people at the Cosmo on Friday Night Fights. Atleast he's fighting the night before Golovkin, so come next Monday, the WBA should finally order the fight. With the purse-bid being a 75-25 split in favor of Golovkin, Jacobs won't have much leverage in negotiations.

Danny Jacobs is finalizing a deal to return on Sept. 9 against Sergio Mora in Las Vegas, possibly at the Cosmopolitan, Jacobs advisor Keith Connolly told Ri ngTV.com on Thursday. Jacobs would then turn around and fight again in December, hopefully against a big-name opponent, Connolly said.
Jacobs was nearly penciled in to fight July 30 as the co-feature to Leo Santa Cruz-Carl Frampton at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. But he was pulled so he and Mora could headline their own show. Mikey Garcia will now face Elio Rojas on the July 30 bill.
Brooklyn’s Jacobs (31-1, 28 knockouts) hasn’t fought since December when he stopped Peter Quillin in just 85 seconds. The first time he and Mora fought in August, the two traded knockdowns in the first round. The fight was ultimately stopped in the second round after Mora could not continue because of an injured ankle, and Jacobs was awarded a TKO victory.
