  • Kathy Duva makes HBO look bad, bluff the WBC and shows everyone how Kovalev's a duck

Duva says to reporter Steve Kim:
Big fights so rarely get made with purse bid and there’s a reason why: “They’re far too big and complicated.” For the time being, the PBC universe simply doesn’t intersect with the rest of the boxing cosmos.

*Well, let's do a short review about the reality behind (purse bids) in 2015 and before..:
    - Groves’ promoter wants purse bids for Badou Jack fight
    - Artur Beterbiev vs. Sullivan Barrera purse bid ordered Oct. 5
    - Wladimir Klitschko vs Tyson Fury heads to purse bid
    - Soro vs. Signani Purse Bid Won By EuroProm
    - Warriors Boxing wins purse bid for James DeGale-Andre Dirrell
    - Nonito Donaire VS Hugo Ruiz - Purse bid on May 22, 2015
    - Shaw wins O'Kane-Johnson middleweight purse bid
    - Derry Mathews vs. Ismael Barroso Purse Bid
    - Mosley-Mayorga II; IBF purse bids
    - Devon Alexander vs. Diego Chaves purse bid order for July 2nd
    - WBO call for purse bids for Andy Lee-Billy Joe Saunders
    - Roc Nation wins Quillin Korobov purse bid
    - Main Events Wins Judah – Mabuza Purse Bid
+ Sergey Kovalev pulls out of purse bid for Adonis Stevenson
+ Team Kovalev turn down Stevenson purse bid

Honestly, I don't know who she try to convince, by saying “They’re far too big and complicated.” It's for the Undisputed title, a unification of all championship belts, it's the sole proof of real supremacy in a division. If she believes she has the sympathy of HBO, she's getting senile. For her financial security, and not that of Kovalev, we now see that these previous purse rejections were not from HBO, they were decisions entirely made by her. Except that to justify her actions she blame Stevenson's clan and indirectly HBO.
Is it normal for someone to lie with as much sarcasm, saying that "the PBC universe simply doesn’t intersect with the rest of the boxing cosmos." Because frankly it's like saying the IBF, the WBA, the WBC, the WBO doesn’t intersect with boxing, with her non-sense she simply take sport fans for idiots.

RULES & REGULATIONS OF THE WORLD BOXING COUNCIL (“WBC”)

2.5 Adherence to Purse Offer Procedure. After a WBC sanction has been issued, the boxers and their representatives shall have a period to freely engage in negotiations (“free negotiations”) to reach an agreement on financial terms that will apply to their WBC contest. When the boxers and their representatives cannot reach such an agreement during the free negotiations period, the WBC may institute a purse offer, also known as a purse bid or purse auction process. When ordered by the WBC, this purse offer procedure shall not be affected by any promotional agreements in which a promoter has options on either or both boxers in such bouts.

Remember, Kathy & daughter Nicole Duva said, the purse bid was too early. They came up with: "Stevenson clan wanted the purse bid last time, not because they wanted the fight, because they wanted Sergey to walk away from it because he had to." (Question: Kovalev had to WHAT?)
Thereby, Stevenson/Michel/Haymon/WBC deliberately waited, patiently enough to set again a third purse bid for november 2015, to fight in January 2016. But Kathy Duva sets up a deal to fight Jean Pascal in January also, hoping to cause a delay in the discussions for a fight between Kovalev and Stevenson.

2.8 Free Negotiations Period. After the WBC orders a bout, there shall be a period of thirty (30) days for the parties to negotiate, finalize, execute, and file a contract for the bout. Should the parties fail to file a fully-executed contract with the WBC by the end of such period, the period of free negotiations shall automatically terminate. The WBC may, by notification to the parties, shorten or lengthen the free negotiation period in special circumstances as determined by the WBC in its sole discretion.

Kathy Duva, who lobbied for this purse bid last year, labeled Haymon an “obstructionist”. By presenting herself to the WBC convention in mid December 2014, asking the WBC President to make the winner of the WBC Diamond belt, mandatory to Stevenson. Therefore, Sergey Kovalev TKO Jean Pascal on 03/15/2015, and following the WBC regulation about the free negociation period, the WBC ordered the purse bid for April 17, after (33) days. Even if Sergey Kovalev pulls out the purse bid on 04/15/2015, while he was a free agent. So the WBC waited until Kovalev re-signed with HBO on 05/18/2015 and reset the purse bid for 05/29/2015, which Team Kovalev turn down again for a second time.

2.18 Boxers’ Obligations Regarding Purse Offer Bids. The interested boxers must accept the winning bid and participate in the bout, as the WBC may deem that any boxer who does not
agree to participate in a bout on the terms of the winning purse offer has forfeited his privilege as a WBC champion or challenger. For a champion to be deemed to forfeit his title as a result, the WBC Board of Governors must confirm such forfeiture by 2/3rd vote.

But team Kovalev didn't failed to pay all WBC sanction fees, yearly licensing fees, or any other fees, expenses, or fines payable in accordance with these Rules & Regulations or any WBC rulings. Means team Kovalev still wish to keep the WBC Diamond belt, but what for, if they don't want to face Stevenson. They can forget their 1st option, Stevenson will not vacate his title nor be stripped from it. They also can forget their hopes for option number 2, Adonis Stevenson will not loose his title down the road caused by time and aging effects. Will Mrs. Duva humble Kovalev's reputation by dropping the Diamond belt after their second victory against Pascal, or will they beg Andre Ward to give them a fight for the end of spring 2016; pushing Stevenson's further.

2.29 Single Purse Offer Bids. If only one promoter presents a bid in a purse offer, he will be allowed to promote the bout unless the WBC considers the offer so low that it would be detrimental to the best interests of the boxers, in which case the WBC will undertake efforts to improve the boxers’ purses.

It's simple, if Kathy Duva continues with her lies, suggesting that HBO is rejecting their participation to this purse bid, when in facts she's not even asking. It's all good, in this case they should leave Team Stevenson ease their task by presenting a single bid offer under the same 50-50 ratio. Only to guarantee and secure a minimum of 10 million in Kovalev pockets. That way, if Kathy Duva or Egis Klimas spit on it, boxing fans will realize that Kovalev is only a hype with a duck heart.

Who are you trying to kid with this nonsense...

Stevenson ran to Haymon/Showtime to run from kovalov the same way Chavez ran to them to run from GGG.

Exactly. It's best to move on and leave this quack alone. Man, Quebecers can't even make this quack fight Pascal, let alone Kovalev. And it's got zero promotional issues.

While I don't think Kovalev himself is running, Duva is scared to death of putting him in there with Stevenson. She's out for easy money and won't risk anything happening to someone who she sees as a future source of income.
I don't see anything indicating that Stevenson is running from shyt. Obviously just wishful thinking from people thinking they need to defend Kovalev's honor.

And you think people are stupid with that crap? The poor woman thought the fight was on the bag, but then Quackenson ran away in the rescuing arms of Haymon.

If i remeber correctly it was stevenson who ran to showtime.

I like how when stevenson did it they have a to twist it but now they want kovalev to abondoned everything he built to fight kovalev like if that is realistic and they calling him a ducker lol.

A lot of those fights either never happened and never went to purse bid like beterbiev Barrera or happened many years later without a purse bid like Mosley Mayorga 2, or a deal was made before the purse bid happened like Klitschko Fury and Jack vs Groves. Almost none of those fights actually went to purse bid.

Remember Povetkins promoter wanted to put a big bid in for Klitschko Fury but a deal was made just before the deadline to go to purse bids

I think Duva is one of the dumbest people having some success in boxing right now, but she's not wrong. Well I mean the reasons why big fights don't go to purse bid is debatable, the fact remains big fights seldom get decided by purse bids. That doesn't mean it wouldn't work here, but than again with the situation (HBO is a no go on anyway else showing this fight & has a deal with Kov) as it is it doesn't really matter.

And Kovalev ain't ducking anyone (nor is Stevenson for that matter). He's a fighter who's entrusted the people who he hired to guide his career to guide his career.
